Omai Gold Mines (TSXV: OMG; US-OTC: OMGGF) continues making steady progress at its namesake project in Guyana after completing more than six drill holes since the New Year.

Drilling at Wenot with a second rig follows a detailed review of the Wenot open-pittable resource model, including creating lens-specific grade x width models, which indicate the potential for continued strong drill results.

The work is expected to feed into the Wenot mineral resource expansion. About 3,600 metres remain to be drilled in the planned summer program. One rig will be dedicated to testing open-pit extensions to the Wenot deposit, while the smaller rig will test exploration targets outside the known deposits.

The Northern Miner‘s Editor-in-Chief, Alisha Hiyate, recently caught up with Omai president and CEO Elaine Ellingham during the Global Mining Symposium in Toronto.
